Proudly Celebrating Armed Forces Week 2021

Posted 9th June 2021
By Kristina Carrington

How many times do we actively think about the work members of our Armed Forces undertake to keep us safely living in a free society? Not often – but more so this year?

We’ve seen the men and women of our military helping to bring the pandemic under control in a calm, professional, controlled and under-stated manner throughout the last 15 months.  It’s now time to celebrate their commitment to our Service so we invite you to join us for this year’s Armed Forces Week.

Everyone can join in!

Flags and Regimental Colours are synonymous with the military and on Monday 21st June we get to fly our Armed Forces Day flags across the country from Local Authorities to construction sites and, virtually, on our Twitter Thunderclap.  We’d love to see your photographs and videos of how you’re ‘flying the flag’ so tag us into your social posts @EAEmployers

Armed Forces Day Flag & Cadets

Wednesday 23rd June is known as Reserves Day, dedicated to our men and women who Serve in their ‘spare time’ and to their full-time employers – a critical element of our Defence capability.  During Reserves Day you’ll see lots of Reservists proudly wearing their uniform to work and they’ll be in good company with lots of Cadet Forces personnel too.  A great way to get your whole workforce engaged is to ask your Reservist or Cadet Instructor employees to do a presentation on what it’s like to Serve in their Unit.

Armed Forces Day is Saturday 26th June, the day the Country says ‘Thank You’.  This year’s celebrations will look very different due to the pandemic but there are lots of ways to enjoy the day, the quirkier the better so challenge your employees to put you at the top of social media for the day #ArmedForcesDay and #ReservesDay

Showing recognition and gratitude for the Armed Forces provides a much valued morale boost for the Troops and their Families. Find out how you can play your part this year.

We really look forward to joining your celebrations and you can tag us in on Twitter, Instagram and YouTube @EAEmployers and LinkedIn at Kristina Carrington
